Dolly & Jean - Chicken Sewing Pattern
Some chickens are sensible farmyard types. Dolly and Jean are not those chickens.
Dolly & Jean are a pair of wonderfully plump fabric hens designed for makers who like their sewing projects quick, cheerful, and full of personality. Make them in bright quilting cottons, tiny florals, checks, vintage fabrics or something gloriously fluffy — this is one of those patterns that changes completely depending on what you pull from your fabric stash.
The pattern includes two sizes of chicken, so you can make Dolly and Jean as a pair or start with one and discover, as these things tend to happen, that one fabric chicken is clearly not enough.
They're a fun soft toy project with enough shaping to teach you something along the way. And because inserting a gusset can sometimes be the bit that makes newer toymakers scratch their heads a step-by-step video tutorial showing you how to insert the gusset neatly and confidently is included. (Is it the most exciting video on the internet? Probably not. Will you know how to insert a beautiful gusset by the end of it? Absolutely.

Delivery within New Zealand
Delivery within New Zealand is by Courier Post.
Shipping is free for orders over $150.00, except for rural deliveries which are a flat rate of $5.00. Orders under $150 will be charged at $6.50 for urban delivery and $11.50 for rural deliveries.
Bulky items are shipped at a flat rate of $15.
Delivery to Australia
We offer free shipping to Australia for all orders over $150. Orders under $150 will be charged a flat rate of $20.00.
International Shipping (excluding Australia and USA)
We are happy to send to you wherever you are in the world! You will only be charged the actual price of shipping to you. When you order through the website it will charge you NZ$50 (don't panic we will only debit you the actual price of shipping. If you would like an estimate of shipping costs contact us before you order online.
USA
Unfortunately New Zealand Post has temporarily suspended shipping to the US because of the Tariffs that have been imposed. Apologies to our much appreciated US customers. We hope this situation will be resolved quickly and we can continue to send parcels of joy to the US.
On the rare occasion if your order gets lost in transit please let us know as soon as possible so that we can follow it up with our courier company and NZ Post. We will then be able to lodge an insurance claim for the order.
